Which OSC Weekend Shortlist Pick Did You Try?
Sometimes weekend plans work out exactly as expected.
And sometimes Florida weather has other ideas.
This weekend, Hurricane Isaias made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 2 storm, bringing heavy rain and gloomy conditions across much of the state, including Tampa Bay.
That meant a few of the events from our first OSC Weekend Shortlist didn’t go quite as planned.

What We Actually Did
We had our eye on Armature Works Fall Fest, but the weather caused the event to be rescheduled for a later date.
We also really wanted to make it to Art-toberfest for Kids on Sunday, but the skies were still gray and rainy, and by then we decided not to force it.
So we changed plans.
Instead of heading out, we turned the weekend into a stay-at-home family day.
We pulled out the card games and board games, picked a few movies, got comfortable, and let the rainy weather do its thing outside.
It ended up being a good reminder that family fun does not always need a reservation, ticket, or packed schedule.
Sometimes it looks like discovering a new fall festival.
Sometimes it looks like everybody piled into the living room debating the rules of a board game.
Both count.
That’s Part of the Shortlist, Too
One thing I want the OSC Weekend Shortlist to become is more than just a list of events.
Yes, I want it to help families discover what’s happening around Tampa Bay — especially local Southshore finds that can be easy to miss.
But I also want it to reflect real family life.
Plans change. Weather happens. Kids get tired. Parents change their minds.
The goal is not to pack every weekend with activities.
It is simply to give families a few good options and help make planning a little easier.
Now I Want to Hear From You
Did your family make it to anything from this weekend’s OSC Weekend Shortlist?
Maybe you made it to a pumpkin patch, tried Tiny Chefs, went on a hayride, or discovered something completely different.
Or maybe your weekend looked a lot like ours — games, movies, and staying dry at home.
Either way, I’d love to hear what you did.
